Zev and friends

Zev was still a little sick at the beginning of the week, but he has been feeling lots better lately. He is getting two new top teeth in, which was part of his grumpiness. Today he went to a playdate with some friends. Here is he is playing puzzles and hanging out around the musical table...

He also spent a fun Wednesday morning with his Mimi and Papa while I went to tutor at my old elementary school. I will be tutoring until the TAKS test, and hopefully it will go as smoothly as it did last week. Tomorrow Zev will be hanging out with dad at work while I teach Saturday school. I'm sure they will have lots of fun.

messes and hair (messy hair)

Zev had a fun week again of course. He has been feeling better despite a cough that seems to be sticking around... He went to the zoo again on Friday, and he is really perfecting his ability to make a mess as seen below.

Here is what Zev's hair looks like if I don't brush it after his bath. I think this answers the will he or won't he have curly hair debate, at least for now. I do usually brush it down though...

makeover

I have had a complaint or two about how it is hard to read on the black background, so I have given the blog a makeover. When Zev is sick, I have free time!

sick

Zev has had a cold for about a month now on and off. He seems to feel fine most days, but every once and a while there is a grumpy day. He has gotten a really bad cough in the past few days, and it sounds a little bit like a there is a rattle in his chest. He went to the doctor yesterday, and they said he was not that bad off. They did send us home with a nebulizer though for Zev to breathe in some medicine a few times a day for the next two days or so. He seems to feel better already. He cried like crazy when we used it at the doctor's office, but today he was fine. Here is a picture of him using it (ignore the person in pajamas behind him):

He was licking at it, blowing raspberries, and still trying to eat toys through it... Hopefully it will go just as well for us later when daddy isn't here to entertain him though it.

8 Months photos...

Official 8 months picture:

Zev is getting so much hair! It is definitely curly if not brushed down. It also just goes crazy from all the winter hats he wears when he is out and about as evidenced below:

Now here he is all brushed again, and he is of course eating his 8 month sign. I think the signs may not work out anymore...

After that delicious sign, Zev took a bath and had some dinner made by dad (with mom as assistant.) He has been eating homemade food, but it has a little stronger flavor than what he was used to in the jar. After his first bite, he will make funny faces, but he always opens up for more. He is not so sure about broccoli/carrot, but he really likes the pumpkin pie spiced sweet potatoes, and he LOVES avocado/pear.

Zev has a big month coming up with lots of play dates, a trip to the Dominican Republic for some quality time with the Lunds, etc., and a baby shower to throw. We are thinking he might also start to crawl this month as he is getting closer. I am going to be tutoring Wednesday mornings and teaching Saturday school, so this month will bring Zev a little more time with Mimi and Dad. We will keep you posted.

new swing

Happy 8 months Mr. Zev!

He is such a big happy guy. I am waiting on the 8 month photos for Ari to fix the printer, but I have a short video of Zev in his new swing. He got this for Christmas, but we just got it hooked up on the back porch. Wish it was more picturesque than a porch nook, but it is where it fits. Needless to say, he likes it.

Zev also got some new toys from Gram and Aunt Maddie this past weekend. He got a pop up toy and some new blocks.

He is working on learning how to use his pop up toy, but for now, he really likes closing those animals in!

randomness...

Zev had fun at the zoo on Wednesday, but I forgot my camera this time. This was the first time that he noticed the animals. He wasn't that interested in them though until they made noise. When the duck quacked, he perked up. I also got to look crazy practicing all my animal signs, but luckily Heather and Addie were with us, so Addie does the noises. That makes it more fun.

Thursday we had a play date with Kristen and Turner and Sarah and Juliana. Zev got to practice his sharing skills. I think I need to find him more friends who are boys!

My dad sent me a few pictures from the day he flew home of Zev with some of the people he loves the most.

We are excited because today Aunt Maddie and Gram are coming back to spend some of their weekend with Zev.

Here is a picture of Mr. Zev snuggling with his ducky.

Last, but definitely not least, an awesome video of Zev. He makes a funny noise, then I sound crazy and make one back, but you have to look for the cute giggles at the end.

I know everyone says this, but this is the cutest baby ever made. He is so happy, and I could not be luckier to be home with him watching him do this while he eats lunch!

not a vegetarian...

Zev is no longer a vegetarian...

Until now, Zev had only eaten breast milk, cereal, fruits, and veggies, but he is not a vegetarian anymore... Here he is having some "turkey vegetable dinner."

Here he is celebrating and playing with his mom.

Now we are off to get ready to go to the zoo!

Zev loves to swing...

Here is a little video of Zev swinging at the park... He really likes to swing, and we are still waiting for Ari to hang our new swing up on the back porch!

finally...

I have gotten a little behind on the blogging. Zev has been a little sickly and not as much fun to take pictures of. The first week of the new year, we mostly stayed home so Zev could rest and feel better. During that week, my mom, Ari, and I painted one of Zev's walls blue. We are finally going to get the nursery finished. We are waiting on some decals that will finish that wall. I also finally hung up the pretty blanket that Zev's Buby make for him. I will put up a picture when the decals finally get here.

Last week, we were really busy. Last week we went to Wiggles class, had two play dates, and went shopping with two different friends. Zev also went out to lunch with Mimi. He got a new pair of shoes to help keep his socks on, and spent some fun time with Dad this weekend.

Here is a fun video of Zev jumping. I think I might need to set it taller soon. As you can see, he likes to play with the toys now too, and he enjoys making noise even though he will flinch at the noise he is making... It is pretty cute. He is a world champion spitter and is turning the light switch on and off. He isn't crawling yet, but he rolls pretty well. He is starting to get upset when I leave the room, so we may be in for some separation anxiety soon, but nothing we can't handle.

The next video is short, but funny (at least to me). Sometimes Zev gets a little out of it. Below is me trying to get his attention. I wanted to show off his new outfit from Mimi and his new shoes, but he was just not noticing me...

I will try to get more up here in the rest of the month so I get less complaints!
