Ava Reese Felson

Ari and I are so happy to introduce our newest niece, Ava Reese Felson. She was born in the afternoon on July 24th. We are excited for Rachel and Zach. I wish we could have been there, but we can't wait to meet her in the next few weeks. Here are a few pictures if you haven't already seen them (or had them forwarded on by me!)

sweet little face

I think she is smiling already in a lot of these pictures...

Tova

This is sweet baby Ava with both of her grandmothers. What a lucky girl...

I will definitely post more pictures of this pretty girl when she gets home from the hospital and starts trying on all the new clothes I am sure Karen (Buby) is buying already. Zev has been practicing his being sweet to baby skills in Mississippi, so he is ready to meet Ava soon!

Weekend in Tyler

Ari and I drove Madison back to Tyler on Saturday. On the way we got a flat tire. We had to wait 45 minutes for Triple A, and then we had to drive VERY slowly the rest of the way. Zev did not enjoy this, but he had a great time once we got there. He got to do lots of swimming and playing with his aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Here he is playing with Keaton

People like to touch that precious belly.

Zev had lots of fun with Uncle Scott.

Zev figured out how to tell Uncle Scott he wants to be upside down.

Then he picked Uncle Scott's nose...

Here he is crawling on dad, one of his favorite activities.

sitting with Pops

There is not a Zev in this one, but it was too pretty of a picture of Grandma to not include it.

Today Zev spent a lot of time playing in the pool. He was having lots of fun and even going almost all the way under the water with dad. Then he had some watermelon with his lunch. He thought it was delicious... You can see it all over his body.

This guy is cute...

Maddie visits!

My sister (Aunt Madi or Auntie San San if you want to annoy her) has been in town for a visit again. We've been doing lots of fun stuff this week too. Thursday, we took Zev to a concert at the mall. He got a drum stick that he had fun beating on the rail.

Friday, we went to Children's Museum again. Zev has even more fun every time he goes. Here he is going down the slide with Madi.

and again with me...

Here, I am blowing his mind, DUCK has a DUCK on his HEAD! Zev was astounded...

Doing some more farming. He really enjoys this. He picks the veggies, plants them, and he loves to drop them over the fence.

It was so slow, even Madison and I got to crawl through the tunnels! We had fun.

Looking at fish

Zev likes to touch the sand with his hand, but not with his entire body...

We've had so much fun with Madison (including a game tournament with me, Ari, and Madi, and some really great hula hooping by Ari.) Today we are delivering her back to Tyler. More pictures of that to come, and next week Zev and I are off to MISSISSIPPI!

haircut and pool time!

Today Zev got his first hair cut. I am feeling sentimental, and Ari is feeling very sad. Zev is getting so big!

Here he is before:

getting ready

My friend Catherine cut his hair for me at her house. She has a great set up there, and she cuts my hair too. She is wonderful.

Zev ate this comb, and then he was using it to comb his hair. It was precious. He just wanted to help.

By the end of the haircut Zev's hair was starting to look pretty poofy. We thought he looked like he belonged in the 70s. He did great though. He wasn't afraid at all, and he sat very still. I'm sure it helped that he knew Catherine and wasn't nervous at her house.

After he was finished, we went swimming at Catherine's pool with her daughter and some other friends. Zev loved how their pool had a beach entrance.

Two more "after" pictures!

THE CLOSE UP

I think it will take some getting used to, but Zev's hair does look good. He doesn't look as much like a baby, but he still has plenty of curls.

water table

Zev has been loving playing at the water table. He gets covered in bug spray, and out we go. He gets so excited before we go out.

I think he put his hands on the ground and then on his face? He didn't fall down, but he did drop his cups several times and have to crawl under the table to pick them up. I didn't see him get so messy because I was raking. I looked away for two seconds, and then a super messy guy! No matter how he did it, it was cute!

I planned on putting Zev in the pool to clean up, but while we were at the table, it started raining. So, Zev and I got went in and take a rinse off in the tub because we were both covered in dirt.

Hopefully it will be less rainy tomorrow! Zev would really like to go swimming in the big pool!

fork!

Here is a video of Zev using a fork. I have to put the food on there for him, but he is getting it in his mouth (instead of poking himself in the eye). If he uses a spoon, he still dumps it off, but we are working on it.

HOORAY!

Children's Museum

We went to the Children's Museum today. Zev had lots of fun playing with his friends. Here he was telling Sofina he didn't want her to touch the light switches with him. He is still working on sharing...

playing lego blocks with his friends

collecting eggs

The videos are the best part. Here is Zev playing at the water table. When we are in the bath, we always put the rubber duck on our head to be silly, and apparently Zev now thinks that is what you do with a rubber duck.

This one has some serious splashing. Zev was soaking wet when we left this area.

Zev is doing some farming! He picked up this corn (and lots of other things) and put them in his bag. He was having lots of fun.

Here is Zev trying to get an egg that rolled away from him. It is funny to watch his friends walk in and out of the video when he falls crawling... Poor guy. He did in good news though, crawl up into the fire truck to drive. That was the most active I've ever seen him be. He is getting much braver. I am so proud.

We had so much fun, and I can't wait to take him back.

more randomness...

Zev's haircut has been delayed until next week! I've been hearing requests for the photos, so I just wanted to let the world know. Here he is bowling last week with out family. He really wants to lick those buttons, but he knows he isn't supposed to do it. He would lean over and get close, then shake his head no and stand up. OVER AND OVER. We play this game a lot at home.

Here he is riding on his birthday horse. I swear I am not bouncing him as hard as this video makes it seem. We are also still in our pajamas...

Zev is getting four teeth right now, and he seems to have picked up two more signs in the past two days. I am going to have to learn more signs!

Happy 4th of July!

Here we have a fun little example of five minutes in the life of Zev.

I decided to get Zev dressed for a little 4th of July picture time. He was so excited to see the camera.

Then he asked if he could have the camera, but I said no.

He kept asking please (rubbing your hand on your chest), but I said that it was mine...

He did not agree. He also did not want to wear this outfit anymore.

He is mad!

One or two minutes later, he has moved on...

Just in time for me to snap this cute one before I put the camera away. We are really big on "out of sight, out of mind"...

Sorry for the delay on the posts, but we just aren't too exciting lately. Zev is getting a haircut tomorrow, so that will definitely be newsworthy.

We are also thinking of trying out fireworks tonight depending on the weather. We will see...
